The Midniters have performed countless concerts in recent years
an absolute insider tip for connoisseurs of the North German blues scene.
Just recently as “Hamburg’s hottest blues band” (Berlin Harmonica Party
05/2019), the band proves again and again impressively that
Decades of stage presence paired with irrepressible joy in playing
there is nothing to replace.
The energetic mix of rhythm & blues and west coast blues that
partly from his own pen, releases happiness hormones in the audience and
goes straight to the legs.
The Midniters line-up consisted of musicians from all over Germany
from Horst Braun (voc), Axel Nörskau (git), Marc Witte (piano / organ),
Wolfgang Sievers (bass / upright bass) and Werner Franzkowski (drums).
Since 2020 the Midniters have had a new band member on guitar after
Axel Nörskau has left the band: Tom Pink
With his 20 years of age, Tom is one of the most promising young
Blues guitarists in Germany.
The audience can definitely expect an enrichment of the band’s sound.
Occasionally the line-up is complemented by a quite unusual brass section
Maren Horlitz (sax), the many from her collaboration with the
Hamburg blues guitarist Vincent Moser and their commitment to the
“Christmas magic” events on the Reeperbahn should be known.
Körrie Kantner (harp), who has been with his own “Not-so-big-Band” for a long time
played together with the Hamburg blues veteran Abi Wallenstein.
The musicians already stood with blues greats such as B. Dan Aykroyd, Steve
Baker, Abi Wallenstein, BB & the Blues Shacks, Marko Jovanović, Tony
Ramos, etc. on stage played as support for Charlie Musselwhite, Nine
below zero, Gwyn Ashton, Manfred Mann, Blues-Company, etc. and are
partly also active in other projects.
The musicians could already have their musical calling card in renowned
Clubs (Cotton Club Hamburg, Bluesgarage Hannover, Downtown Bluesclub
Hamburg, Meisenfrei Bremen, Docks / Prinzenbar Hamburg, etc.) as well as at
International blues festivals (Eutin, Lübeck, Schwerin, etc.).
